Here’s a map giving directions to the field trip site.

Remember!!  There is the normal, “tourist’s” entrance, and there is the “local’s” entrance. The tourist’s entrance is closed this time of year on a weekday, so don’t go there! Be sure to follow these directions.

  • Whether you’re coming from the north or south, from 30th St., turn west on Water St. If you’re coming from the north, it’s the next street past the Visitor’s Center and Park entrance road.
  • Water St. goes between an elementary school and a swimming pool. That’s how you’ll know you’re on the right road.
  • At the bottom of the little hill, turn north on 31st St.
  • 31st dead-ends at Chambers Way, and you can only  turn left (west).
  • Go about 1.5 blocks and you’ll see an entrance to the park. There’s a little trailhead there. Just follow the trail right to the pond.

It just occurred to me that I never announced a time to start the class!!

We’ll begin promptly at 10am. If  you’re late, you will miss out on some of the most important information: What NOT to eat!

So… don’t be late! :-)

  • drinking water
  • hat
  • notebook
  • camera
  • salad (to put your harvests in)
  • plates & utensils
  • cup (so  you can sample the pine tea)
