Bear Creek Nature Center, on the west side of Colorado Springs, will be the site of the Wild Edible Mushrooms, Plants, and Bugs class

Hello everyone!

My apologies that it has been SOOO long since my last post. We have been swamped lately.

I recently spoke with Ken, a volunteer with the El Paso County Parks Dept., and he is responsible for putting together the program schedule for the parks department. Ken used to work at Fountain Creek Nature Center, and while he was there, he invited me to help teach a wild edibles class.

Well, he has scheduled another class, this time, at Bear Creek Nature Center. The class is tentatively scheduled for August 21, from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

The class agenda is:

  • Wild mushrooms
  • Wild plants (my part)
  • Wild bugs!

And, yes, for your information, there will be samples there of each culinary delight. Last time, there were live meal worms for us to sample (though you don’t have to).

So, if you’re not on the Parks Department’s mailing list, just call them and get on it so you can be aware of when this fun class will be held.
